I love beta's. Especially if you make me feel REALLY special and insist that the only way I have access is to request a golden invite. Throw in the added fun of making me wait 24 hours for said invite and I might just get hooked. Sure- sign me up! It's like throwing a gauntlet down, if you make me wait for access you better be worth it.
Viewzi.com was totally worth the wait. This site is phenomenal- hit Viewzi.com and request your
invite now - before you read any further. I used this site for a mini-sourcing project for my current employer and it was a blast! (I know - big geek alert!) But if you're like me and on the Internet 40-plus hours per week, it's always good to find a new site that makes search a bit more interesting. And I'm always happy to find a cool sourcing tool that's free.
I really love Viewzi.com because of the multiple ways it visually displays results. My favorite quote on the Viewz.com website is this:
"Humans think in pictures. If a picture is worth a thousand words then Viewzi's rich, visual Views are worth a million searches. But don't think of us as yet another visual search engine. It's more than just pictures, it's about visually presenting your results in the context of what you are searching for."
Isn't that brilliant?! You get more than 10 ways to view your results - it's incredible the way these Viewzi folks think. You can certainly view your standard search results pages on Google, and a Google results page is great - detailed - probably getting some of my best results. But as any sourcer worth their salt knows, one search engine isn't going to cover the entire Internet. Viewzi.com will search the big 4 - Google, Yahoo, Ask and MSN. And then display those results visually to you. You can see the top 3 or 4 results from each site quickly and move on to the search engine you think will best suit your purpose.
And there's the Video X3 View. I don't often search for images or videos, but I will with Viewzi. With these results you see videos from YouTube, Blinkx and Veoh streaming across your desktop. I was amazed, as I Peer Searched a couple of names, at the amount of information returned.
But my favorite is the Web Screenshot View. It's like tossing through the proverbial stack of papers and just scanning your results - and it's all virtual. I haven't killed a single tree, Viewzi.com tells me the number of results I've gotten so I can make sure I don't end up flipping through thousands of pages and it's amazingly quick.
Viewzi.com is the needle in the haystack of beta's out there - you've got to give it a shot and see how it can benefit your sourcing time online. Even if it just reminds you again what we teach in SearchLab - one search engine will not get you to all your candidates - but the right one will get you to some great candidates. Happy Sourcing!
Editor's Note - Kelly Dingee is a Technical Writer/Sourcing Researcher for AIRS. Prior to joining AIRS, her experience includes sourcing for Thales Communications, Inc., and internet recruitment for Acterna (now known as JDSU). No truth to the rumor that she has a side business to help you push your resume to the top of Google search results...

Thanks Kelly! As you know I love anything smack in the middle of talent and technology and this certainly seems to be pretty cool. waiting for my invite now. . .
